What is Stears Premium?

Stears Premium refers to our digital-only subscription service. All Stears Premium content is created by our in-house analysts, and focuses on specific industries, issues, themes and companies. Each weekday morning, subscribers will receive an 8am email from our editors introducing that day’s Stears Premium story, and why it is important for you.

We offer two kinds of paid subscription plans to access Stears Premium content:

Personal subscriptions
Team subscriptions

How do Personal Subscriptions work?

Anyone who wants to access our Stears Premium content will have to sign up to a paid subscription plan. Readers will immediately be able to create an account with only an email address and subscribe to one of three options:

Monthly plan — ₦4,000 or $10
Quarterly plan — ₦10,000 or $27
Annual Plan — ₦35,000 or $99

How do Team subscriptions work?

Companies, organisations and schools that want firmwide access to our content will also be able to pay for subscriptions. Team subscriptions are for teams with at least 4 members. Each member of the team will receive complete access to Stears Business.


Teams that purchase subscriptions will also receive the monthly Stears Data economic and market reports, at no additional cost. Teams may also reach out to Stears Data for bespoke advisory, consulting and research needs.

Will I still be able to read any free content on Stears Business?

You will be allowed to register for free to read a limited number of articles a month. A free registration will not allow you to read Premium articles.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We currently accept most international and local debit cards.

We are also able to accept direct bank transfers.

How do I pay for Stears Premium via Bank transfer?

Do you have a mobile App?

Stears Business does not currently have an App. We will update this page when that changes.

Can I subscribe to Stears Business on the App or Play store?

It is currently not possible to subscribe to Stears Business via the App store or Play store. We will update this page as that changes.

If you’re already a Stears Business Premium subscriber

I just purchased but I still can’t get full site access. What’s happening?

After you entered your email address and password during the purchasing process, you should have received an email with the subject line, “Please verify your email address with Stears Business”. If it does not show up in your priority inbox please check your Spam folder.

Clicking the link in the email activates your account. If you can’t find the email or the link isn’t working, please contact our Customer Care team at [email protected].

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time on your dashboard. You will not be billed for any subsequent subscriptions. Although you may cancel at any time, your access to Stears Premium content will remain active and the cancellation will only take effect at the end of your then-current subscription period. You will not receive a refund once you have accessed your subscription. If you have any additional questions, please email [email protected].

I am unhappy with my subscription, can I receive a refund?

By purchasing your subscription, you agree that we may start your subscription immediately upon our accepting your order. This means that you are not entitled to a refund if you change your mind after you have accessed your subscription. Your subscription will be active until the stated expiry date. If you would like to cancel your subscription, you may do so on your dashboard at any time. If you have any additional questions, please email [email protected].

How can I change my payment plan?

Special Considerations

Do you have an academic discount?

We’d be happy to speak with both students and educators about special rates. These rates are offered as part of our Team Subscriptions. Please fill in this form and our Sales team will be in touch with you.

Do you have team subscriptions?

Companies, organisations and schools that want firmwide access to our content will also be able to pay for subscriptions. Team subscriptions are for teams with at least 4 members. Each member of the team will receive complete access to Stears Business.

A unique feature of team subscriptions is access to Stears Data economic and market reports which currently retail at ₦250,000 (Annual subscription) and up to ₦150,000 for a specific industry report. Teams will receive these reports for free.

For team subscribers, Stears Data, our research & data analytics division, remains available to handle your specific data collection, analytics and research needs. Our economic and demographic databases grow by the day, and we are excited to use our data solutions to serve you.
