The Director-General (DG) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig - Gen Suleiman Kazaure, warned corps members against electoral offences during the upcoming 2019 elections.

Kazaure gave the warning during an inspection visit to the 2018 Batch C stream II orientation camp in Kano State last year and again during an address in Enugu State orientation camp two weeks ago.

The corp members working with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to coordinate elections across different polling units in the country were charged to be good ambassadors of their country.

There was also a lot of talk on the need to put their safety first.

“Study your environment and be security conscious. When faced with obvious danger, secure yourself first. Don’t enter vehicles belonging to politicians and strangers as INEC will provide all your needs” - Suleiman Kazaure.


Political neutrality

Similarly, Julius Amusan, the Akwa Ibom coordinator of the NYSC, during a 3-day training programme that started 2nd February 2019 advised corp members to remain neutral during the electoral process.
