2021: What to expect in telecoms, energy, and banking sectors

I was going to start this article by discussing how harsh 2020 was, but you already know that. 2021 should be better. Covid-19 will not “disappear”, but now, we know what to expect, and hopefully, we will be better prepared. 

Other than Covid-19, there are a few significant events we expect in 2021. From 5G’s imminent arrival in Nigeria to the much-talked-about PI bill. Here is my take of five things to look forward to in 2021. 

5G’s arrival will be gradual

Two men walk into a bar: a charismatic pastor and a flamboyant Nigerian senator. They order a few drinks and discuss how 5G technology caused the coronavirus. The more they drink, the wilder the claims. It culminates in the pastor claiming that the government ordered the lockdown to install 5G covertly. 

Well, the lockdown has come and gone, and there is still no 5G in Nigeria.
