Do Nigerians really need 16 years of schooling?

Growing up in secondary school, did you ever sit in a class and think, "How on earth am I going to use this information in my life?" 

I did. Many times...

This was me in my integrated science class or when I crumpled yet another sheet of paper after making a tiny mistake drawing the semi-invisible lines on my title block during a Technical Drawing class.

Today, a little over a decade later, I assure you that I haven't had to use T.D or any information from the periodic table in my life. What a waste of my time! The only thing I can say I learnt from science class was the process of carrying out an experiment which I use for research today. So, I guess it wasn’t all a waste.

Other people have it worse. Many have pivoted so far away from their studies. Think of the veterinarian
