It’s time to call out Nigeria’s finance minister

I've been writing for Stears Business for more than 2 years now, and guess how many times I have visited the Ministry of Finance's website? Zero. In contrast, my browser history tells me that I've been on the Central Bank of Nigeria's (CBN's) website at least 465 times in the last year.

Given my reputation, it's tempting to say that this is because I prefer criticising the affairs of Emefiele, but that's not entirely true. I tried to visit the Ministry of Finance's website this week, and it required a few minutes of digging. Even Google couldn't direct me to it, and I eventually got there through a link on the Budget Office website. 

Why was it elusive? Well, the page was more or less empty. There doesn't seem to be any data stored on the website itself—even the "About" page doesn't work. All I found were a few links
